Hi there! We’re Greg and Lisa Cook, the proud owners and founders of 4e Winery in Mapleton, North Dakota. What started as Greg’s passion for crafting quality wines from pure northern prairie ingredients has blossomed into the crazy, wonderful dream we’ve been living since we opened the doors of our tasting room in July 2015.
Greg wears many hats—he’s the chair of the Chemistry Department at North Dakota State University, a winemaker, a plant-based chef, and a YouTube creator behind the popular channel, The Pot Thickens. If he’s not at NDSU or the winery, you’ll likely find him in the kitchen experimenting with amazing plant-based creations or filming his next culinary masterpiece.
Lisa is the heart of the tasting room. She loves connecting with customers (many of whom have become friends) and sharing stories—sometimes taking the scenic route to the point! When not greeting guests at the winery, she’s usually immersed in her latest creative project.
While we aren’t native North Dakotans, we’ve called this state home since moving from Michigan in 1996 for Greg’s role at NDSU. Over the years, we’ve fallen in love with the Red River Valley’s quiet beauty and the warmth of its people.
We’d love for you to visit 4e Winery, where stories flow as freely as the wine. Good wine, good food, and good friends—what more could we ask for?
Cheers,
Greg & Lisa
